This semester in the Innovation Academy we have been looking at matters inside philosophy. The general subject was what does it mean to live a great life and how can we accomplish it. We had to question our surroundings, our life methodology and most importantly ourselves. We started by understanding the concept of red herring and its invisible influence in our lives. We are constantly trying to avoid or even escape reality. This can be seen in a variety of ways. Checking Facebook before starting studying for an exam is a small way to dodge for a moment the fact that you have to start getting prepared. Additionally, I started to question I have been living in a hedonic treadmill. In other words I have a tendency to quickly return to a stable and perpetual happiness level despite positive or negative things that take place in my life. Lastly, I have noticed that I my default settings have made me think that everything is about me. Philosophy has allowed me to notice things that I had lived all my life doing and never questioning.
