Tennis has been something constant in my life. However, there has been a point were the improvement has stopped. I have been working equally as hard as I have before, but I feel like I have stopped improving. In some areas I think that I have reached my maximum capability in some areas and in the other hand in others there is significant room for improvement. Nevertheless, after my brief back injury I feel like I have been struggling with getting into the right track even though my effort level is the same. Additionally, I think that the weather is also an influential factor in my performance. This tends to make me get tired a lot faster and get dehydrated very quickly.

Week #1
After obtaining the internship at Mimanzana Smartec we agreed on the schedule which consisted on Mondays and Thursdays for three hours. Nevertheless, my mentor, Nicolás del Solar was going to be out of Lima on Monday so we decided to start Thursday. Therefore, I decided to utilize the independent project time to do some prior research on marketing since that way I can start by having some knowledge on the subjects that I will be viewing a lot at Mimanzana Smartec. I learned about the different philosophies and purposes behind promoting a product. Additionally, I understood better the process that starts from planning and ends with selling.
Once Thursday arrived I talked with Nicolas and discussed my position and job in the company. He will assign projects to me and deadlines for them. My first task is to take a six hour inbound marketing course which has to be finished by next. So throughout my time at Mimanzana Smartec I was focused on the online lesson and taking notes.
This is what I learned:
However, this was my first official day at the firm and I still don’t know that much about this topic. The plan is to finish by thursday so Nicolas and I can speak the same language and I can understand the tasks granted.

Week #2
Throughout this week I continued working on the inbound marketing course. Nicolas, my mentor told me that I didn’t have to go neither on monday or thursday because he said that it was long and he wanted me to make sure that I understand all of the terms and ideas to the fullest. By monday I am expected to have fulfilled the course.
By now I have learned the following:

Week #3
Throughout this week I was assigned to construct a design for a landing page on how to create a campaign on social networks oriented on conversions. However, I am not encharged of the information involved, only the design. I have spent most of the week drafting and asking for feedback. There are specific areas that this landing page requires such as a headline and Nicolas stated that it is very important to include one. I have been learning a lot about landing pages on the online course and I have been implementing additional research on the topic. By Thursday of next week the landing page design should be completed.

After having completed the final landing page design. I have received feedback and have been assigned to implement it furtherly. I have to place my design on a website called App Bounce where I can aggregate all of the futures in an online manner. Additionally, Nicolas sent me the ebook so I can include some information about it on the landing page. However, this shouldn’t explain much about it because then it will be taking ideas from the ebook and by doing so less people will download it. I have to complete this by monday and send it to Nicolas. Once I have feedback on it I will return on thursday or next monday (depending on how much feedback) to apply this changes and then finally meet with an official designer to make the landing page public.

I spent the week working with the website that Nicolas recommended. I liked that it had a simple layout so I could focus more on the content rather than the arrangement management. Additionally, I finished implementing his feedback and made sure to add all of the components that a landing page should contain on the site. I learned how landing pages need to be straightforward and communicate briefly the value that the product to be downloaded will offer. In this case the e-book's real purpose is to exchange user information for the strategies on how to convert leads. It is important to keep in mind that the landing pages transparent about why the company is asking for the user’s data and to transmit the respect for his privacy.

Week #6
The week started by presenting my final draft of the landing page to Nicolas. This was done after all of the feedback given was implemented on the website. Then he explained my next task. First we discussed the two type of Mimanzana Smartec customers one is called Javier and is a more analytic type of person that is focused in rentability, growth and efficiency. The other customer is called Ana, she is younger, emotional, interested in the promotion of her brand and her products. Then, Nicolas gave me access to a website called Google Adwords which is basically a service offered by Google in order to analyze website traffic. One of the functions of this service is determining traffic generated when using certain keywords. For example, if you sell lamps you can add “buy lamps” as a keyword in your Adwords campaign and when people type this on google search your ad may appear on the results page. This is how selecting high quality and relevant keywords for an advertising campaign can help you reach your target audience. Nicolas’ wants me to apply this searches with terms that have a relation with the company so they can conduct articles on this matters and ultimately promote the brand. He requested for me to fill out a google spreadsheet with information on keywords, the buyer type (Javier or Ana), its relevance (on a scale of 1 to 10), and the monthly search traffic of each word. He wants me to fill this out by Thursday.
